Privacy
What this site keeps
This site has no cookies, no ads and no tracking, and it doesn’t ask for your name or email.
Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to send you the pages and to keep the site safe from attacks.
Visit counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits (which pages, which country, which kind of device). It uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you to other sites.
Email. If you write to [email protected], your email is used only to answer you. Ask, and it’s deleted.
The newsletter. If you sign up for The Black Envelope, your email address is kept by Kit (kit.com), which sends the emails, and is used only for them. The sign-up form loads a small script from Kit, which remembers in your browser that you’ve signed up (no cookies). Every email has a link to leave, and leaving deletes you from the list. To have it removed by hand, write to [email protected].
Other sites. The buttons go to Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub and social sites, which have their own privacy rules.
